Equestrian New Zealand hopes New Zealand riders will compete all three disciplines at next year's London Olympics.

Squads have been named in eventing, show jumping and dressage with a view to both the 2012 London Olympics and 2014 World Equestrian Games.

Equestrian Sports New Zealand High Performance Director Sarah Harris says it first time in a long while that all three Olympic disciplines genuinely have a rider who could compete at the Olympics.

Leading the squad is the 2010 World Equestrian Games Eventing bronze medal-winning team of Andrew Nicholson, Mark Todd, Caroline Powell and Clarke Johnstone, with seventh placed individual Jonathan Paget also in the mix.

The in-form Katie McVean, who also rode for New Zealand at the World Games last year, is the only one named for showjumping.

Harris says the three dressage riders, Penny Castle, Louisa Hill and Vanessa Way are 2014 World Games candidates but says they could come into contention for London if they're ranked inside the top thirty in the world.
