Hotels In London Jacking Up Prices for the 2012 Olympic Games

Every time the Olympic Games roll around, people go crazy trying to get their hands on tickets. Of course, tickets are not the only things that are hard to get. In fact, one of the hardest things to do is find accommodations. The people that wait too long to get accommodations are either going to end up paying a crap ton of money or they are not going to find a room.

Well it seems that travelers are already seeing this firsthand. People who have not bought their hotels yet for the 2012 London Olympic Games now have to pay as much as five times the price that they would normally pay for the same room. Of course, this should not come as too much of a shock to anyone since most people expect the price of hotel rooms to go up during the Olympics anyway.

However, it does appear that some hotels are taking it to the next level, which is bad for tourists. For example, one 4-star hotel has its rooms quoted as being £1100 per night. That is a lot of money in itself, but it’s even worse when people find out that rooms typically only cost about £200 at that same hotel. The staffer at the hotel that gave up the information has asked media sources to not give up his name or the name of the hotel.

There are other hotels that are, of course, charging extra for their rooms during the Olympic Games. However, on that same note, most of the hotels are only charging a bit more to make a little extra profit. For example, another hotel, which has not been named, is charging £297 per room per night during the games. The rooms here are typically £131.
